Hobart Disc Golf holds various events each year. To find the list of active events, and to register for any upcoming events, head to our event registration page.

Monthly Social League

Our monthly social league is held on the first Sunday of each month at Poimena Reserve. We play off the beginner layout to make it more accessible for all players, and players of all skills are encouraged to come along and enjoy the event, and get some assistance with the sport and the course.

If you need assistance with equipment to come and give it a go please get in touch, via Facebook will be the best option

Beetle Hill Open

Poimena Reserve is built on a hill home to rare beetles, which is where we have gotten our branding from.

To honour the hill in which we and the beetle call home, we hold the Beetle Hill Open, normally on the last weekend of January.

Two Heads Open

The Two Heads Open is Tasmania’s premier event, and is currently held as the Tasmanian Major on the Australian Disc Golf Tour. It is held every year in March, and attracts the best players from across Australia to one of the best courses in Australia.

This event is played off the championship layout, and is the one event not to be missed on the Tasmanian calendar.

Ian Smith Memorial

The Ian Smith Memorial is held every year in honour of Ian who was a Poimena regular and sadly passed away in 2019. The event was first run to raise money for his young family, and all proceeds have continued to go to his family.

The event is normally held mid September

Aussie Disc Golf Day

in 2020 when COVID started to ruin everything, the Australian Championships was cancelled. To make up for it the inaugural Aussie Disc Golf Day was held, where the country could compete with each other without leaving their home course.

This event has continued to be run, with Hobart Disc Golf running the event locally to determine a local winner, but all competitors are also automatically entered into the national competition to see who the best player in Australia is in each division.

Traditionally the event is held mid to late November.
